Bangkok for Kids
Thailand is hailed for many things including night life, shopping, and great wildlife experience even in the middle of Khao San but it is not the primary destination for people who want a family tour. This is rather unfair. There is as much to do for kids in Bangkok as much as there is for adults.
Siam Ocean World
If you want your child to see how an aquarium is supposed to look like, bring them to the Siam Ocean World in Siam Paragon Shopping Mall. Let your child tour through a glass-bottom boat and even swim with some of the friendliest sharks you will ever see.
Ice Skating
It doesn’t snow in Bangkok but it doesn’t stop the Central World in Siam Discovery Center to build an Olympic-size skating rink. If your child doesn’t know how to skate, they can take lessons here and impress their playmates when they go back home.
Butterfly Garden
Children like chasing after butterflies. There’s something about the beauty of their wings that hypnotize people into happiness. In Thailand, they don’t need to chase after butterflies, butterflies will chase after them. At the Butterfly Garden in Rotfai Gardent, BTS Mochit, there are more than 500 different kinds of butterflies. The place is so huge, they can spend the whole day there running around. You can also have a picnic and go for a couple of miles on a bicycle too.
Water Parks
If you don’t have the time to take them to Phuket or Phi Phi to swim, try the Water Parks. Don’t worry, it’s not one of those water parks where you will see nothing but slides. There are roller coaster, fairy rides, other kinds of rides, and other activities where the whole family can participate.
Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
Yao Ming has retired. You will never see him play in the NBA again but you can still see him in Madame Tusaauds Wax Museum at the Siam Discover Center. Aside from Yao Ming, other international celebrities are there including Bruce Lee, David Beckham, Brad Pitt, and Tom Cruise. Well, not them exactly but the wax is so life-like, you won’t be able to tell the difference.
Dusit Zoo
Asia is known for its wildlife but there are very few countries that managed to support and keep their wildlife healthy. Thailand is one of them. The Dusit Zoo in Rama V Road offers you a chance to have a family bonding experience as you watch more than 800 different species of birds fly above you. You can walk, have a picnic, take train tours, or ride the boat to go around. There are tigers, lots of snakes, monkeys, and other animals.
Temples
I know it doesn’t sound interesting but wait until you see the expression on your children’s faces when you tell them that the Grand Temple is made of gold. Let them touch the gold, take photos with the monks that are roaming around, and stare at the former resident of the King and his family.
