Here are some great travel couples who should be on your radar and part of your travel network.
Many great travel couples inspire, entertain, and educate me with their travel stories, photos, and adventures.
Included are links to their websites, social media channels, and, for many, their interviews with McCool Travel.
Mike and Anne Howard left on their honeymoon in 2012 and have been traveling the world ever since. Follow their world’s longest honeymoon across seven continents, 50+ countries, and over 400 places on HoneyTrek.
Scott and Collette Stohler quit their jobs as corporate desk jockeys in June 2015 and left for an around the world trip. Since then, they’ve traveled to nearly 70 countries, documenting their travels on Roamaroo and their popular Instagram page.
The Planet D
Dave and Deb (Dave Bouskill and Debra Corbeil)—of the award-winning The Planet D—have traveled to over 100 countries on all seven continents together and learned a lot along the way. They show that ordinary people can live extraordinary lives. We aren’t special, we aren’t independently wealthy, and we aren’t superhuman. We are just two regular people who believed that everyone has the potential to live their dreams.
Paul Bennett and Lani Bevacqua are the founders of Context Travel, which organizes small-group, expert-led tours all over the world for intellectually curious people. They spend a lot of their time traveling, and often by boat. They’ve sailed throughout Central America, across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and through the Mediterranean.
Sue Reddel and Diana Laskaris—of Food Travelist—are culinary travel professionals and have been exploring the world together since they met in 2007. They seek the world’s finest destinations, cuisines, accommodations, spas, brands, and experiences and their stories, tips, and ideas are designed to fuel the thrill of discovery for luxury seekers, global explorers, and food lovers.
One Modern Couple
Carolann Hughes and Macrae Sutton are One Modern Couple, a Canadian couple traveling the world. They changed their lifestyle, from the 9-5 grind and climbing the corporate ladder, to working online and experiencing the world while doing so.
Blonde Brunette Travel
Kay Dougherty and Anne Reilly, Blonde Brunette Travel, are Baby Boomer sisters with lifelong experience in travel. The infant sisters went camping in National Parks with their parents but happily transitioned from budget travel to luxury travel. They have very different life experiences but similarly irreverent senses of humor. Somehow it all works together to produce humorous and useful travel tales and advice.
Well, of course I must include myself and my wife, Julie. Although we operate different travel brands, we travel together a lot. When our twins are off at college, we kick into fifth gear as empty nesters and travel as much as possible. My social media information is at the bottom of the screen, so here are Julie’s accounts.
Denis and Lynn Gagnon have traveled the world for more than 45 years and share their joie de vivre on BonVoyageurs. Former international business travelers, they know how to travel—with class, comfort, and style.
David and Veronica James sent their youngest out into the big, wide world, then set out to break the empty nest rules by selling everything and hitting the road. Along the way they began writing posts for their popular website, GypsyNester, and rediscovered the couple who fell in love years ago.
Travel Happy and maybe we will meet you somewhere in this wonderful world!
