Hilton Colón Quito Celebrates Multi‑Million Dollar Renovation of Ballroom – Hotel Magazine
Earlier in 2022, Hilton Colón Quito officially opened the doors to the Los Shyris Grand Ballroom and invested $1.5 million as part of the hotel’s extensive remodelling plan.
By increasing the main hall’s capacity by 60 percent, the space can now be divided into three independent areas with refurbished sound insulation systems, state-of-the-art Spanish LED lighting and eco-friendly Japanese cooling technology to accommodate greater events and conventions in Quito. The meeting and events space now spans 2,800 square meters across 26 rooms with and without natural lighting.
“We want to be on the cutting edge of the new way of hosting events and attract important groups to the city,” said Patricio Jiménez, general manager of Hilton Colón Quito. “We believe Quito to be a powerful destination growing in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Events) industry, and we want to enhance the city’s infrastructure to the level of any other Latin American capital city.”
In addition to the extended space, the structural renovations made to the roof allow for equipment with a maximum weight of one tonne in the hatchings and any other decorative element an event may require. The renovation was finished in partnership with Ecuadorian architect Pablo Cornejo, who combined versatility, functionality and fusion with the hotel’s outstanding services and guest experiences.
Beyond the meeting and events space, Hilton Colón Quito comprises 255 guestrooms and suites, a heated outdoor swimming pool, lush gardens and roofed terraces, a 24-hour gym and a newly-renovated executive lounge. The hotel offers an extensive range of food and beverage options, including four restaurants and bars, and an award-winning kitchen serving up to 2,500 daily meals inside or outside the hotel.
