A beauty fridge that makes your face feel fresh
I have a reputation in my family for being a last-minute holiday shopper. But this year, *all that will finally change—*I have a plan to beat my other family members to the good gifts by jumping on the Early Access Sale. In particular, I’m in the market for a beauty fridge to give my sister this Christmas. She has the ultimate makeup collection and routine, and I just know she’ll love the luxury of slathering chilled moisturizer onto her face. —Alex Erdekian, travel bookings editor
A fierce pack of pastel highlighters
Markers are utterly and absolutely unnecessary for me to own—but I remain obsessed with any and all writing instruments from Stabilo. I have a rainbow’s worth of 50 fine-liner pens already; I really don’t need a single marker more. Still, I have always wanted the pastel Boss highlighter pack. They would add so much delight to my planner, and I believe they were discounted last Prime day. It’s time to stock up. —A.E.
Marathon superpowers
As a novice runner training for the New York City marathon (my first, yikes), I’m buying all the goods and gear I can to somehow do this thing. Nuun electrolyte tabs are one of my new need-to-haves—they’re great for running or other strenuous activities (surfing, hiking) when you need an electrolyte boost, but they’re also useful for long days of walking around and exploring a new place. You just drop one tab in your water and boom, you get an energy boost that keeps you going a bit longer.
Every fall I tend to replace worn out shoes before the weather gets cold and wet and I really need something reliable. This year, I’m eying some New Balance sneakers—I know they’ll be comfy on long flights and busy walking days, while still being easy to dress up or down (gotta love a multitasking shoe that saves space in your suitcase). —Megan Spurrell, senior editor
A sneaky, stylish phone charger
It’s a running joke among family and friends that my phone is constantly out of juice. Please don’t tell me to buy yet another generic charger; we have plenty of those. What I really need is a good-looking charger that I don’t hide away because of how messy it looks hanging out of my wall. Enter: the Courant charging tray. It looks sleek (that linen! The color-matched cable!); it would help keep my device charged and its accessories organized; and it will function as a pretty catchall for odds and ends. I’ll take two, please! —Arati Menon, global digital director
Wintry goods: snow boots, cashmere, and a glittery garland
Have you met New York’s weather lately? If so, you’ll know how critical it has become—anytime other than summer—to have a durable, comfortable, and waterproof boot. And Sorel really knows how to make those. There are plenty of styles to choose from, but this Lennox Hiker style is my favorite (I hear Katie Holmes can’t get enough of it, either).
