Winners of the Texas Travel Awards include parks, destinations in San Antonio and Hill Country

Spots in the Hill State took top rated marks in this year’s Texas Journey Awards.

The Texas Vacation Awards seemed at 4 areas — arts and tradition, households, foodies and outside adventures — and asked people to submit their favored places for each.

A panel of judges, including KSAT’s David Elder, then made the decision on the winners that “represent uniquely Texas locations and experiences deserving of any traveler’s itinerary,” in accordance to its site.

The place of the yr went to South Padre Island, but many of the other group winners ended up in the Hill Nation.

For instance, Gruene Hall, Texas’ oldest frequently working dance hall, won 3 of the classes — legendary tourist attraction, are living music venue and put to dance.

But these winners, like Schlitterbahn, Pure Bridge Caverns and the Stars and Stripes Generate-In, are not just for tourists — they can be for locals far too.

The destinations can be for San Antonio inhabitants who are seeking for staycation options or swift outdoors trips.
