Perched 6,000 feet above Mount Hood National Forest, Timberline Lodge offers breathtaking views and stands as a testament to the New Deal's contributions to the American landscape.

This arts-and-crafts design ski lodge on the slope of Mount Hood has been named the “crown jewel” of the New Offer, with a wood interior designed all over a 92-foot stone chimney. Artwork inside of incorporates carved and inlaid wooden, wrought iron, weavings, paintings, mosaics and stained glass. Committed by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1937 and now a National Historic Landmark, it still welcomes visitors calendar year-spherical.

Jewel Box Greenhouse at Forest Park

St. Louis

The Jewel Box Greenhouse at St. Louis’ Forest Park drew national attention when it opened in 1936.
